Located in the Bucharest Corporate Center, the new IBM lab will reside near another IBM facility, the IBM Business Analytics laboratory. That lab was established after IBM acquired Clarity Systems in 2010. Both facilities intend to work together to deliver solutions that are optimized to manage customers’ explosive data growth, while providing them competitive advantage via predictive analytics.
Visitors can drill down for charts and analysis on operating and strategic costs of their infrastructures, and the potential costs and savings of the IBM alternative. For even greater analysis, visitors can click on the IBM System Consolidation and Evaluation Tool at the end of the simulation that provides a more comprehensive and detailed comparison.
NPD Group analyst Anita Frazier said in an email, “While content sales grew substantially thanks to a great slate of new content, a decline in average retail price in all categories with the exception of portable hardware resulted in flat dollar sales even though unit sales grew for console hardware, as well as console, portable, and pc software.”
